World Undersea Cable Map 2019 is officially released

[Cable Network News] The 2019 version of the World Submarine Cable Map was officially released. The new map depicts 420 submarine cable systems and 1,106 submarine cable landing stations in the world today, including those already in operation, under construction and expected to be commissioned by the end of 2021.

TeleGeography, responsible for mapping the World Underwater Cable Map 2019, said that during the period 2016-2020, a total of 107 submarine cable systems were deployed worldwide, with a total length of more than 400,000 kilometers and a total value of more than $13.8 billion.

The World Undersea Cable Map, released in March 2018, depicts 366 submarine cable systems and 1,006 landing stations, which are currently under construction or are expected to be fully operational by the end of 2020.
